The man is a journalist who visited the facility to write a report about it; the dog is a permanent inmate.

Everything took place incredibly abruptly.

The visitor was recently given a bear hug by an unknown dog.

This man stopped what he was doing and started petting the dog since this simple act had such affection and hope.

The reporter had never seen her before, so he was unsure of what to make of her, but it appeared as though they had been friends for a very long time.
