Until she met his human brother, Weezy was a fearful dog who would quake at just about anything. The little Italian greyhound, who was abandoned at an animal shelter in Alberta, was extremely nervous all the time for reasons that are unknown, but she appeared to be scared of everything, including people, squeaky toys, and even flies. The initial individuals who removed her from the shelter returned the dog the following day because she appeared too terrified.

Then one day Sarah Mavro, a woman, got in the car and traveled two hours to pick her up. It turns out that Weezy only had two teeth left because the others had to be extracted due to their poor condition, which accounts for her distinctive hanging tongue.

The dog took three years to bark for the first time, which in her instance was a solid indicator of comfort and trust. Then, miraculously, baby Evan arrived, and Weezy suddenly became at ease with him. He is now 7 months old, and according to Mavro, she loves him much more than she loves the rest of us.
